SUNZiO AUTO RENTALS' commercial auto policy is excess coverage only. Your personal auto insurance — or a qualifying third-party rental policy — is primary. A checkbox is not sufficient: we call your carrier directly using their official number to verify coverage before every rental. SUNZiO AUTO RENTALS reserves the right to cancel any booking if coverage cannot be confirmed.

💳 Reservation Deposit — $150
A $150 deposit secures your reservation and is applied in full to your rental total. It is fully refundable if you cancel at least 72 hours before pick-up, and forfeited if you cancel within 72 hours of pick-up or no-show. After submitting, you'll receive a secure Stripe payment link. Your remaining balance is due 24 hours before pick-up.

Payments, Deposits & Taxes

Booking direct with SUNZiO (not through Turo) involves three payments:

  1. Reservation deposit — $150. Secures your dates and is applied in full to your rental total. Fully refundable if you cancel at least 72 hours before pickup; forfeited if you cancel within 72 hours of your start time or no-show. Refunded in full — regardless of timing — if we cancel because your license, selfie, or insurance could not be validated within the 48-hour notice window.
  2. Refundable security deposit. Before pickup we place a refundable hold on your card as a security deposit for the vehicle. It is released after the car is returned on time and undamaged; if there is damage, cleaning beyond normal, or a policy violation, the applicable amount is deducted per the rental agreement.
  3. Balance at return. On your return date we charge the remaining rental balance (rental cost minus your reservation deposit) plus any incidentals — fuel or EV charge not returned at the level received, Tesla Supercharging billed to SUNZiO during your trip, and tolls — plus applicable taxes.

Taxes. Florida rental tax is based on where you pick up the vehicle, not our office location: 6% Florida state sales tax, the pickup county’s discretionary surtax (about 1% in Manatee and Sarasota counties), and a $2.00/day Florida rental-car surcharge for the first 30 days. The surcharge does not apply to pickups at airport locations such as SRQ. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

By submitting this reservation request I confirm that all information provided — including my identity documents, selfie, and insurance — is accurate, current, and truthful. I understand that a signed Florida Vehicle Rental Agreement (completed via DocuSign) and verified security deposit are required before vehicle delivery. I agree to all rental terms including GPS monitoring, age requirements, prohibited use policies, and the insurance disclosure above.

You can sign and pay right now — but your reservation is conditional until SUNZiO AUTO RENTALS validates every item you submitted: your driver's license (front and back), your verification selfie, and your proof of insurance. We also confirm your coverage directly with your carrier.

If anything needs attention, we will contact you by phone, text, and email at the number and address on this reservation, and tell you exactly which item to correct. You then have 48 hours from that notice to supply it.

If we cannot validate your documents within that 48-hour window, your reservation is cancelled and your $150 reservation deposit is returned in full — the 72-hour cancellation forfeiture does not apply to a cancellation for failed validation. A signed rental agreement does not by itself constitute a confirmed reservation, and no vehicle is released until validation is complete.

Right after you submit, sign the Florida Vehicle Rental Agreement from any phone or computer — prefilled with your name and reservation number. No account, no app, about three minutes.

Pay your reservation deposit

Secure Stripe checkout locks in your dates. The deposit applies in full to your rental total.

SUNZiO validates your documents

Usually within the hour, we validate your license and selfie and confirm your insurance directly with your carrier. If something needs attention we'll tell you exactly what, and you'll have 48 hours to supply it — otherwise your deposit is refunded in full.

Security deposit & delivery

Once validation is complete, your security deposit hold is placed and your vehicle is delivered to your chosen location, ready to go.

Every SUNZiO rental is backed by a signed Florida Vehicle Rental Agreement — completed securely online through DocuSign.

If you prefer, affordable third-party auto renter's insurance is available through the three providers linked in the booking process (Bonzah, Sure, and InsureMyRentalCar) — coverage often starts around $7.99/day.

All payments are handled securely through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment platform (the highest security standard in the industry) that encrypts and tokenizes your card details end-to-end, so SUNZiO never sees or stores your full card number.
